What is Domain Rating (DR)?
Domain Rating is a metric from Ahrefs, scored 0-100, that measures the relative strength of a website's backlink profile: how many other sites link to it, and how strong those linking sites are themselves. It's on a logarithmic scale, so it's a comparative signal rather than a fixed percentage of anything: a higher DR means a comparatively stronger backlink profile than a lower one, not "DR 80 has twice the links of DR 40."
The number shown here comes from a live call to Ahrefs' own API each time you check a domain. It's never cached or precomputed by this tool.
FAQ
Is this tool free?
Yes, no login required either.
Where does the Domain Rating come from?
A live call to Ahrefs' own public API each time you check a domain. It's never cached or stored by this tool.
Do you store the domains I check?
No. Nothing about a check (the domain, the result, or that it happened at all) is saved anywhere.
Can I check any domain?
Yes, any publicly registered domain, not just ones you own.
Why does the number look different from what I saw before?
Domain Rating is a live, continuously-updated Ahrefs metric. It naturally changes over time as backlink profiles change, so a check today can genuinely differ from one done earlier.
Is Domain Rating the same as a Google ranking?
No. It measures backlink-profile strength only. That's one signal among many that influence real search rankings, not a projection of search position.
