What is an Open Graph preview tool?

Open Graph and Twitter Card tags are meta tags in a page's <head> that control how it looks when shared as a link on social media or messaging apps: the image, title, and description shown in the "link card" preview. An Open Graph preview tool fetches a URL and shows you exactly what that preview will actually look like, before you share it anywhere.

How do I use it?

This tool fetches the page, reads its og:*/twitter:* meta tags (falling back to the page's plain <title>/<meta name="description"> when none exist, and saying so plainly), and renders a mockup of the resulting link-card preview alongside a table of every raw tag actually found on the page: useful for spotting exactly which tag is missing or wrong.

Do you store the URLs I check?

No. Nothing about a check (the URL, the result, or that it happened at all) is saved anywhere. It's shown once, in the same response, and gone.

What happens if a page has no Open Graph or Twitter Card tags?

Why is the preview image sometimes missing even though a tag was found?

The image tag pointed at a URL, but this tool couldn't fetch it or it wasn't a valid image, so the fallback placeholder is shown instead.

What's the difference between og: and twitter: tags?

og:* tags are the general Open Graph standard most platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn) read. twitter:* tags are Twitter/X's own set, sometimes used to override the og: values specifically for that platform's preview.

Why does the description look cut off?

The mockup clamps the description to 2 lines, matching how most real link-card previews actually render it. The full, uncut text is still shown in the raw tag table below.
