Alerts
Get a Telegram message for a traffic spike, no traffic, a goal count, or a new payment.
An alert sends you a Telegram message when something happens on a website: many visitors at once, no visitors for a long time, a goal count, or a new payment. Dodolytics checks your alerts every minute.
Before you start
Alerts are sent to Telegram. Connect Telegram first on your Account page. See Telegram Daily Report for the steps. If Telegram is not connected, alerts are still checked, but they show only in the history on the Alerts page.
Add an alert
- Open a website, then open Alerts in the sidebar.
- Under Add an alert, choose a type in Tell me when.
- Set the number for that type (see the table below).
- Click Add alert.
To check the connection, click Send a test message in the Where alerts go card.
The four types
| Type | The number you set | When it sends |
|---|---|---|
| Visitor spike | Visitors at the same time | When the number of visitors in the last 5 minutes (the same count as Real-time) reaches your number. It sends one message, and sends again only after the count went below your number. |
| No traffic | Hours without a pageview (1 to 168) | When no pageview arrived for that many hours. It sends one more message when traffic is back. |
| Goal count | Completions in one day | When a goal reaches your number on one day, in the website's timezone. At most one message each day. You must add a goal first. |
| New payment | Smallest amount (0 = every payment) | For each new payment from your connected revenue provider. The message shows the amount, the customer's email, and, when it is known, the source and landing page of the customer's first visit. |
The payment amount is in the smallest unit of the currency. For
US dollars, that is cents: type 5000 for $50.
Manage your alerts
- Turn off stops an alert and keeps it. Turn on starts it again.
- Delete removes the alert and its history.
- A Now badge shows that the condition is true at this moment, for example the spike is still on.
- A website can have 20 alerts.
History
The History card shows each message, its time, and whether Telegram received it (Sent or Not sent).
Good to know
- Alerts work only while your Pro plan is active.
- Only the owner of a website can see and change its alerts. Team members cannot.
- A new payment alert can send at most 5 messages in one check. Then one more message tells you how many other payments arrived.
- Uptime monitors do not send alerts. See Incidents and uptime statistics.
