Invite team members

Give a person view-only access to a website.

You can let other people see the reports of a website. Each team member has a role: a viewer can see the numbers, and an editor can also change goals, funnels, and most settings. They do not need a plan of their own.

What each role can do

  • Viewer and editor: open every report of the website, including Revenue and the emails of customers, change date ranges and filters, and export CSV files.
  • Editor only: add, edit, and delete goals and funnels; add and delete chart notes and pinned date ranges; and change these cards in Settings: General, Hostnames, Exclude visits, and Dashboard tiles (with the #1 KPI).
  • Owner only: the public dashboard, revenue connections, Search Console, imports, alerts, the team, erasing a visitor, and deleting the website. Alerts go to the owner's Telegram, so only the owner manages them.

A viewer does not see the Alerts and Settings pages. An editor sees Settings with only the cards an editor can change.

Invite a person

  1. Open the website, then open Settings. Find the Team card.
  2. In Google email to invite, type the email of the person's Google account.
  3. In Role, choose Viewer or Editor.
  4. Click Make invite link.
  5. Copy the link and send it to the person yourself, for example by email or chat. Dodolytics does not send email.

The link shows only one time. Copy it before you leave the page. If you lose it, click New link next to the person. The old link then stops working.

What the person does

  1. Open the invite link.
  2. Sign in with Google, with the same email that you invited.
  3. Click Accept the invite.

The website then shows on their Websites page, under Shared with you.

Rules for the link

  • It works for 7 days and only one time.
  • Only the invited Google account can use it. If the person signs in with a different account, the page tells them to log out and sign in with the invited one.
  • A website can have 10 team members, including invites that are not accepted yet.

Change a role

In the Team card, click Make editor or Make viewer next to the person. The change applies the next time they open a page. You can also change the role of an invite that is not accepted yet.

Remove a person, or leave

  • Owner: in the Team card, click Remove next to the person. They can no longer see the website.
  • Team member: on the Websites page, under Shared with you, click Leave. To see the website again, you need a new invite.

The owner's Pro plan covers the team members. If the owner's plan ends, the team members can no longer open the website.
